Seriously, how amazing does this look!?!

This is my mum’s awesome granola recipe – seriously super-yummy on some yogurt for breakfast and if you fancy something extra filling I’d recommend a boiled egg or two on the side. This usually keeps me full until lunch time. When I’ve learned how to make my own yogurt I’ll let you know and we can make this waste free!

You can pick up nearly all of the ingredients for this from your bulk store so there’s really no need to buy everything in single use plastic bags. If it’s easier for you to buy from the bulk section at your local supermarket, please think of the planet and give your plastic zip lock bags a rinse or a wipe down and pop them back in with your reusable grocery bags so that you can use them on your next trip to the store – simply cross out the old number and write the new code on. You could reuse these bags dozens of times and you totally get to feel a little bit better about your environmental impact!

I think that the only thing that you can’t get from your bulk store is coconut oil but you can get this in a glass jar – I recommend Olivado oil.

This recipe keeps really well in an airtight container and it’s also a great way to use up any extra nuts that you’ve had in your pantry that may be getting a little stale. Does anyone else consistently buy far too many almonds than you know you’ll eat?

You can make your own changes to the recipe and you’re not likely to get it wrong – this is customisable to your own tastes – I like to add a bit of cinnamon to mine along with some chia seeds. If you have a sweet tooth and you’re not concerned about your sugar intake, feel free to add a little bit of honey (but don’t tell mum!).

Enjoy this yummy breakfast and let me know what you think. It may seem quite pricey to make at first but I only have 1/4 of a cup with each meal and it lasts me weeks!
